Bloggers Reaction to FLDS Conviction

Let’s look at the reaction to the conviction of Raymond Jessop around the blogs…

Americans Against Abuses of Polygamy, K. Dee Ignatin, activist.

  • Wanting to know what the FLDS does with the bodies of children that die.

FLDS Legal Perspective, Ron in Houston, Lawyer.

  • Several posts, one on why the defense did not call any witnesses.
  • Another posts was on the possible grounds for appeal, with a comment that he would later address why those would not be successful.
  • And his best post was a YouTube video – “Don’t Mess with Texas.”

FLDS Texas, FLDS Texas, unknown.

  • In this blog’s normal fashion, it primarily posts just a small blub, and the comments are where the main information is located.
  • Comments are overwhelmingly supportive of the conviction.

FLDS View, Allen Holm, aka Pliggy, FLDS Member.

  • Posted a poem about children crying and some religious verses.

Free the FLDS Children, Bill Medvecky, convicted felon.

  • More of the same from Bill.  He wants to file lawsuits (again).

The Modern Pharisee, Hugh McBryde, car dealership finance.

  • That didn’t take long.

The Plural Life, Brooke Adams, Salt Lake Trib.

  • She seems almost stunned by the way it happened, commenting on the two hours of deliberation (which likely was shorter than that, when you consider that it was dinner time and that they had to elect a foreman).
  • The fact that he was taken into custody immediately seemed strange to her also – while other states may be OK with convicted rapists running the streets, this is Texas.  You know, go directly to jail…
  • She talked about sentencing and the possibility of probation – but in this state, the average sentence for his crime is 18 years out of a max of 20 – which means that a vast majority of those found guilty are given 20 years.  This will be no different, especially with the prior bad acts evidence.
  • The last thing that she mentioned really shows her mood – she had to be asked by a bystander twice what the verdict was before she could say “guilty” and thought that his answer of good was newsworthy, posting on both her blog and her article on the verdict.
  • As a side note, observers in the courtroom noted that for a portion of the trial she was seated directly in front of Willie Jessop – perhaps to get his input?
  • She was also overheard asking a number of people if they were pro-law enforcement posters on her blog, and seemed to be concerned about it.

  2. “She was also overheard asking a number of people if they were pro-law enforcement posters on her blog, and seemed to be concerned about it.”

    Really? That’s kind of odd.

    • She asked one lady that was sitting next to her if she was “Chole” and reportedly seemed paranoid about it.

      • Well, I guess Chloe DOES get a little excited at times. Personally, I’d be more worried about sitting next to Huge Ego or Bile, myself. Neither of those two understand the first thing about boundries.

        • Maybe she was just concerned about Chloe overhearing her conversations with Willie Jessop.

          • This is actually so funny! Does she think posters from her blog follow her around?

            • Its good she was on her toes.

Say, what “I” wanna know, is how many times did Willie Jessops chin bounce off the floor when the “Gulity” verdict was read?

Good thing he was there to see “The Truth Prevailing”…

    • This comment proves two things:

      1. People were really listening to her private conversations (or at least asking about them).

      2. The people worried about Brooke had some type of connection to Texas Blues, otherwise how would Blues know?

      • Because I’m a new Profit and God talks to me…

Of course people tell me what is happening. I’ve never hidden that fact.

        • Ooooh, Blues, you have CONTACTS? What a shock. I mean, I knew about God talking to you and all, but PEOPLE TALK TO YOU TOO? Wow, that’ll take me a while to assimilate.

          • ha ha ha

          • And here all this time I thought he had glasses.

            Hmph.

        • Absolutely

          He is the new profit.

I’ve put Blues picture up in my living room, my dining room, my bedroom, and even my bathroom.

At first it was a little uncomfortable having his picture looking at me when I took a dump, but knowing that it will make me a God in the afterlife helped me get over that.

  3. Juror Ballew that Brooke identified as being on the Jury and wife to the San Angelo Grand Jury Foreman, namely Ray Ballew, who brought the original charges against FLDS members was replaced before the Raymond Jessop Jury deliberated.

  4. Smart move to remove that juror, to prevent grounds for an appeal.

  5. (which likely was shorter than that, when you consider that it was dinner time and that they had to elect a foreman).
    —————————————————
Which reminds me of the song “When the Lights went out in Georgia”

“The judge said guilty in a make believe trial
Slapped the sheriff on the back with a smile and said
Suppers waiting at home and I got to get to it”

Very fitting song at this time – backwoods Southern jury!

    • Actually, the line is “backwood Southern lawyer”, not jury.
But then I guess you were never too interested in details. Or facts.

      • Yes, I knew that but it was the jury not the judge – that’s why I said jury.

Did you notice I put the real lyrics in quotes?

But I guess you were never interested in details or facts – just assume someone is guilty.

        • I clearly said the lyrics state ‘lawyer’ not ‘judge’. You’re not even paying attention to the details you read right in front of you!

And I have news for you – Raymond Jessop knows he’s guilty. So does his victim. So does his victim’s family. So does my blind great-grandma who doesn’t even follow the news. It’s high time the FLDS stopped thinking they were above the law.

    • Being factual or intellectual honest are not things that Marykay even bothers with.

      Look, Troll-girl, here’s the deal

You can argue that there was something wrong with the procedure and while you’d be wrong, that’s still at least an intellectually defensible argument. For instance you could say that the evidence from YFZ should have suppressed or that the state didn’t prove that it happened in Texas.

However, don’t impugn 12 people doing their public service by saying that they railroaded a guy who was factually not guilty. There’s no doubt he had a baby with a 16 year old girl. Heck even your buddy Bill admits that.

Be at least a little intellectually honest, huh? We know you don’t like that he’s guilty and don’t think he should be prosecuted, but don’t try to say he’s not guilty and got railroaded.

Somehow, I feel dirty for feeding the troll…

  6. The guy broke the law, Mary Kay. Get over it. Wives and families of meth dealers have to deal with the hurt of prison, also. But it’s the fault of the law breakers, not the law enforcers.

  7. Being factual or intellectual honest are not things that Mary-I-hate-bigots-kay even bothers with.

    • *dumps hot soapy water all over Ron to wash away the troll cooties*

  8. Wives and families of meth dealers have to deal with the hurt of prison, also…
    ============================================
Well to be fair, in these cases unlike meth dealers the wives and families are used as evidence to imprison the person charged.

    • It could happen. Maybe they could legalize polygamy, then legalize marriage to inanimate objects. Then the dealer could get married to several large piles of meth.

    • To be FAIR only the FACT of illegal activity are used against them. Besides, why should the FLDS be the only ones who can use family against their people. C’mon, quit hogging all the wives and children as a bludgeon to yourself, AL.

  9. You can argue that there was something wrong with the procedure and while you’d be wrong, that’s still at least an intellectually defensible argument.
    =================================================
Btw, thanks RiH. That’s been my argument all along. So far my argument has gotten short shrift in court, well except for the children returning to the ranch, but I respect, maybe not like, the verdict of the jury.

  10. Reposted from another discussion.

Bile M and ole dog deci duane have a few things in common. One is lying. Like duanes scantily clad rock throwing apostates in short creek which is on a par with Bile M eating bavarian creme filled pastries at the butterkrust bakery on Bj.. street. The only problem is that there is not a bakery by that name on that street. ROFL. Bile M wanted people to think he was at the trial when he was most probably still in his Florida trailer. What a jerk and liar, just like duane is a jerk and liar. Joined at the hip twins. LOL

  11. Ah, the upside down world of the apologists. Where getting your cheek swabbed with a Qtip is a horrible indignity, but being assigned as a concubine to two men before you are 17 is an honorable religious ritual.

  12. Those teen girls arent going to be so easy to fool any more.

What girl wants a husband in prison for 20 years?

  13. Ah, the upside down world of the apologists. Where getting your cheek swabbed with a Qtip is a horrible indignity, but being assigned as a concubine to two men before you are 17 is an honorable religious ritual.

Betty – That comment is one of your best. It so clearly points out the twisted irony of the apologists views.

    • What Ron said. ;)

  14. Thanks every and each one of you for tonight’s entertainment, you you and you, and you too, you know who you are, and even you Marykay. I needed the laughs!

  15. What goes around, come around! I hope the merry men get time in general population, unlike Warren who will never be at risk when he bends over for a bar of soap. With luck Billie, Allen or Willie will get their own turn defending obstruction charges. A leopard does not change his spots and long ago in writing these morons convicted themselves. The turn coats to child justice were both Brooke Adams and Nancy Perkins, one from the Trib the other from Deseret News! Long live the great reporters like Ben Winslow, Mike Watkiss and John Dougherty. Thank you Jon Krakauer for “Under the Banner of Heaven”. In sadness great FLDS activist did not see this come to an end. Don Cox & Eunice Bateman, your fight was ours!

    • MIB

Good to see you post! Things move slow but WHAM we got another good conviction!

And this sets up a trend!

    • I do have to weigh in here and say that I sincerely hope that none of the FLDS men have to suffer the trauma of rape in prison. I think that it says terrible things about our prison system that such things occur. I also think that two wrongs don’t make a right. (Frankly, I also wonder how many of these men have already been raped growing up.) So I cannot join in any wishes like yours MIB. I would prefer to see offenders actually rehabilitated. I know sexual offenders rarely ever get rehabilitated, but I think the men of the FLDS stand a better chance than most. Some of them are probably only sex offenders because their prophet told them to be. Perhaps after they’ve been cut off entirely from his influence for a while they will start reasoning and using a little logic and rational thought to find empathy for the women and girls, men and boys, and children they have hurt. Including their own wives and children.

      • You are probably right, but I have certain FLDS men on my dislike list! I don’t care for Willie Jessop, I think Merril Jessop needs to understand rape or the reverse of the power and control he used and enjoyed. Sam Barlow if still alive needs to know fear created by bullies, which he was most of his adult life. Many as you say were bad guys by decree.

I knew Jack Cooke and understand the reasons why Crazy Ruth is refered to as such. Jack now dead, did several of his biological daughters and messed them up for life! Jack had 4 wives, 56 children! His daughters were 13 & 15, a tad bit young for stopping dad!

Johnny Jessop, Clyde Mackert and a dozen others fresh in my mind, sexually abused children and that proof lies in their conviction and the sex registry. Dan Barlow Jr. who had 5 of his daughters. The more you know, the more conflicted you become.

I’d like to see FLDS attorneys Scott Berry & Rhodney Parker in that prison shower room, they enabled the abuse to be prolonged for years. Max Wheeler diserves a reservation in hell as well. The elected Washington County attorney 1973-1978 Ronald Willard Thompson, the Hildale Special legal council had a huge role in extending or delaying judicial actions to prolong decades of abuse, he was hired in 1981 to protect FLDS interest. Then there is Snow & Nuffer who were the Colorado City attorneys, Nuffer, Thompsons former legal partner, now a judge courtesy of former Utah Governor Michael Leavitt.

The FLDS had influential legal advise and those guys prolonged the abuse of children and in my opinion should see the inside of the same prison. When I say SNOW & NUFFER, Steven Snow is “General Authority” of the LDS mainstream Mormon church, David Nuffer the former Utah Bar Association President in 2000/2001.

Mohave County Attorney William Ekstrom Jr. tooke four years before admitting his conflict of interest and ignored
his share of abuse cases. Fortunately his replacement Matt Smith has done remarkable things to reverse the “F”
Mohave County deserved in Ekstrom’s administration.

So I want to see more than the FLDS brought to justice, I want those in jail who delayed justice for their 20 pieces of silver! Since the 1987 Arizona State Investigation by Jameson for Dept of Public Safety, alot, hundreds of children
        were abused & ignored.

        JB

      • JB, I understand your pain and frustration with the system. And I am certainly not a fan of any of the FLDS men and women who participate in or ignore atrocities agains others. But as appealing as “payback” or an eye for an eye seems to people who are cruel or evil to others, it just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m more interested in seeing to the safety for those still in jeapordy. So I’m all for tough prision sentences. I’d love to see counselling and education classes for those convicted. I’d rather not see atrocities visited upon them because all that does is create anger and bitterness to continue the cycle. So, while the vengeful part of me sees the attraction to such wishes, the logical part of me says it would be counterproductive.

However, please don’t interpret this as a criticism of your anger. I completely understand it. :)

  16. Strange this post calls for an act of violence against FLDS men – and let’s see it remains here – unedited.

But of course, you don’t consider the FLDS humans, do you?

    • I don’t see a call for violence.

      Care to point it out?

    • I don’t see a call to violence either. I guess the PPSG wouldn’t know truth OR reality if it bit them in the butt.

(No, MaryKay, that isn’t a call to violence either — it’s just a figure of speech.)

    • I consider the letter of the law and know the FLDS better than you most likely! In March of 2001 FLDS attorney Rhodney Parker acting on behalf of his clients threatened me for merely reporting sexual child abuse. I take threats personal! In 2004, it was reported in the News that I had been killed by an FLDS avenging angel? Not true but I certainly took afew calls that day.

I have and have retained over 1,000 emails to and from the staff of the Utah Attorney General. I worked with Kristine Knowlton durring the Rodney Holm court case. When Carolyn Cooke ran in March of 2000, that was Les Zitting & I who picked her up in the dead of night and afew others after.

When a juvenile was shot at with a shotgun in the Colorado City Creekbed, close enough to draw blood, that never hit the papers, but that was a huge concern with both the Utah & AZ Attorney General because of its potential to escalate. The question is, who are you and what do you really know?

Aside from being the sole source to Janet Napolitano in her 30 day preliminary investigation, begining December 3rd, of 2000 by Leesa Morrison of her staff, back then and after I was gathering information in mass on the FLDS, including geneogram or their family trees. I had all of the hard back books FLDS published by TWIN CITY PUBLISHING and by Warrens trial in September of 2007, I had over 550 of Warren’s audio cassettes and knew what he had preached in detail, along with Rulon Jeffs and Leroy Johnson, the prophets before Warren.

The economic structure of the UEP, its trustees, the umbrella corporations like MAJESTIC TRUST, the corrupt corporation like National Land Corp. The illegal meth labs that William Black had established in Hildale and more! Rulon Jeffs deposition in Stubbs vs Jeffs in 1989, pretty well laid out enough data to unravel the financial holdings and which members were aloud to control it. Then of course Louis Barlow’s 1981 purchase of the SAM 180 Rifles from arms dealer Roger Graham caused some alarm, only because of the end disctruction doctrine and theology that both Warren & Rulon preached, it was in Rulon’s text and Warren’s voice. What other conclusions could Arizona, Texas or Utah get with a theology that wipes the FLDS enemies off the face of the earth.

You can moan and cry about haters, but taking Warren as one who told the truth, I or we had 1000 plus hours of his spoken word and he made himself and those who were loyal to him, into a potential risky equation.

Edit what I stated? Absolutely NOT! If the FLDS attorneys don’t like it SNOW, CHRISTENSEN & MARTINEAU know who I am and where I live. In prison a child abuser is not treated kindly. Warren is well protected and will never see general population, but who knows with someone like Merril? Since we all have opinions, did you ever visit the Caliente Hot Springs Resort while Merril owned it?

The more you know and say, the more you reveal of your slant, regardless of facts or evidence. My bias comes from my experience! When Myrom raped Chloe’s 5 year old daughter, I pretty much solidified by opinion and position.

  17. Something I’d long back learned is to never argue with a drunk or delusional (psychotic) person.

I suppose we can pity this marykay person because that (treatable but) incurable brain chemical imbalance is not an illness anyone can cause or would choose.

  18. There are many good people in Colorado City/Hildale. Some that I know are 2nd Ward or Apostate! Where I draw the line is in crimes and abuse. Many of the FLDS did not abuse their children, but many did! Those who protected their families I support, but in a theology of the reassignment of wives and children, exampled was the power of authority to recreate localism and isolationism, that allowed and promoted underage marriages, the marriage of sisters, of mothers and daughters to the same husband and unions with cousins, half brothers, step brothers, step fathers, uncles, etc.

When Carolyn ran in March of 2001, I learned her father Marvin Cooke had married his second wives daughter as his 3rd wife. Roberta Mackert couldn’t refuse her priesthood head and her daughter Afton was forced to marry the man she called father, the man who spanked her when she was bad. Marvin wanted to Mary Samantha or Sammi, so she begged to be placed with a man in Canada.

I didn’t want Johnny Jessop in my home, but in activism helping those leaving, a known and convicted child sex offender came to my home and it was obvious he was obsessed with his very young grand daughters. A chance delivery to his apartment above a machinist shop downstairs, had lifesize portraits of his grand daughters on his walls. He was convicted and on the state registry.

While there are truly good folks in the CREEK or CREEKERS, I have no problem discussing real people and real cases. Defending or denying what is fact, is transparent. Many apologist on the blogs, several who are pro FLDS weaken their arguement, if they refuse to discuss real cases. Some who see this as a kin to the patriot movement where religious freedom in their minds is under attack. But if sex with children is a protection under religion, then its time to rethink giving religion a free pass card.

  19. Jay, you are a delusional, paranoid and obsessed nutcase.

    • Thank You!

  20. Blues I am still very much enjoying all of your blog entries. And really enjoyed the video collection. Ron I enjoyed your video as well.

    Stamp- you still got it!!

To the person posting as April Day may I suggest you enlist in your own Sand tray therapy. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to admit you need help.

Am looking forward to seeing Duane get set straight by Jay. :) Nice to see you Jay.

    Walton

    • Glad to still be in the game! The judicial system moves slowly, but in time the TRUTH will get out and JUSTICE will prevail.

If we remember back to pre the Texas raid, the claims of Warren Jeffs GOD LIKE complex were denied and the apologist spin was that of pure pursecution. Post Texas, Warren’s journals paralleled his audio cassettes that few have listened to and earlier claims were proven to be fact, by Warren’s own hand. The pro FLDS are still trying to spin what Warren has stated in his audios and what he committed to written text. THE TRUTH has but one version and spinning Warren’s own dedicated version would be to call him a liar and place him in the open to be the false prophet apostates and gentiles know him to be.

Spinning this as persecution and a right as protected religious freedom, skirts the edges of the “Christian Identity Movements” Credo “that non-Caucasian peoples have no souls, and can therefore never earn God’s favor or be saved” (Warren’s paraellel theology). Polygamy a god given right practised by several fringe neo nazi & white christian extremist groups, see Warren’s and the FLDS fight as their fight. Is there any wonder why the blogs are saturated with posters that are NOT FLDS but equally extreme!

From the Southern KKK to a new sanitized “Christian Identity Movement” the names and symbols have changed, but the ideaology remains the same and very similiar to the rights and belief of the FLDS. The localism of groups smaller than cities to flee to the rural rocky mountains, Western Montana, the Idaho panhandle, British Columbia, the Arizona strip and far beyond, see the FLDS fight as theirs, fearing they may be next! Some less extreme, have still hit the blogs defending the FLDS as a fringe patriot slant.

      What these blogs have done, is identify old movements that are as alive and well as the MONTANA FREEMEN, circa 1996;

The Montana Freemen were a Christian Patriot movement based outside the town of Jordan, Montana. The members of the group referred to their land as “Justus Township” and had declared themselves no longer under the authority of any outside government. They became the center of public attention in 1996 when they engaged in a prolonged armed standoff with agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Those in law enforcement like this chatter!

      Advise to ignore…
“Do not feed the trolls” and its abbreviation is DNFTT.

      I am so hungry…….

  21. Ole dog deci duane cannot tolerate people who deal in facts and documentation since Duane deals in lies and fantasies. Now he is posting off topic gibberish and calling people with knowledge names. Raymond’s conviction drove out what little sanity the ole duane dog had left.

  22. See the problem duane, is that Jay knows what up and with who.

He is on the front line protecting abused men women and children, and you still protect the child molesters.

Today will be a great day, as Raymond Jessop gets sentenced.

Well, there is a long list of bad acts, so it may be tomorrow.

But the perpwalk pics will be priceless!

Jay- Great to see you again!

    Walton, you too!

    • I think I have retired, then someone or something sucks me back in. The 80 or so audios I put up on YouTube were post Warren Jeffs Sept. 2007 trial, to many from the press or media kept asking for time consuming searches of peticular discourses by Warren. I figured 80 or so audios were enough to keep the press content. Previous to the YouTube stuff, I had donated 100 of the Jeffs audios to HOPE via Gary Engels as the messinger or delivery. I had hoped the Press would go to HOPE Organization instead of me for this stuff.

A month before Warren’s trial (August 2007) the DA Brock Belnap contacted me wanting precise sermons or discourses by Warren. No doubt they existed in the 100 cassettes I donated, but who had the time to listen and find the 3 audio tapes that were eventually used in court. The line about treating boys as snakes, instruction of marriage, etc. Unfortunately I actually listened to most of the 550 cassettes I own and that gave me value.

The cassette used by NPR Radio and the one used by the Southern Poverty Law Center were copies from me, but in truth several others were cranking out copies for the press at the same time.

Once Texas courts assigned Guardian Ad Litems to the children, attorneys scrambling to get a handle on the belief searched the internet finding YouTube audio/videos. A mass amount of data of text and audio was shared and sent to lawyers and state officials. In cycles depending on current events, I find myself in and out of this issue.

When I am accused of hating the FLDS, that is the opposite of TRUTH! I have friends up there, some still living a plural life. Apostates, fringe and 2nd warders. Few can admit knowing me! When I was organizing with FRIENDS of THE LIBRARY to get a Colorado City Library, I was thought to be a reporter since I was seen with AP reporter Jennifer Dobner, whom I invited to cover the story. I knew personally ALL those representing MOHAVE County and by their invitation invited in 2 of the 5 UEP temporary Trustees. One of the local organizers finding out it was me by name after I left stated it well, knowing me could be GOOD or BAD, depending on who in Colorado City you talk to.

I have spent time in Colorado City, the night or many nights, I have been to the schools and the community college, to Gary Engels office and to the surrounding areas on 4-wheeler ATV’s. Into homes of Apostates who knew who I was and into the homes of the faithful, who did NOT know who I was at the time. I went to FLDS homes along the Wasatch Front near SLC prior to the 2002 Olympics and to ranches in rural Utah and beyond working with parents and families in and out of the “work”. The transition to work with families from just runaway girls really opened my eyes to the victimization of men as well as women and children, though victim and perpetrator can sometimes be one in the same person.

  23. Stamp, I have to admit, I am looking forward to seeing Raymond in an orange jumpsuit. Wonder if they’ll let him wear his magic long underwear in prison?

    • Oh, he will get magic underwear in a magic room in a magic place for Time and what seems like Eternity.

His magic fantasy will last until his first appearance before a parole board in ten years or so.

      Then….. *POP*

    • “Wonder if they’ll let him wear his magic long underwear in prison?”

I doubt it. As far as I know they don’t get to in Utah and I seriously doubt Texas would be any more lenient than Utah on that.

      • Well he could wear his prison issue undies on his head, think how magical he could be then!

Course it doesnt work as well as tin foil and there is always the danger of skid mark transfer.

  24. Here is a missive from blogger Huge McNut:

“Perhaps the “deal” where Stevens capitulated on FLDS members on the Jury was that no one would contest them if a new panel was seated for sentencing. Either there’s a plan or Stevens is a spectacularly bad attorney, is hobbled by defense wishes (I would think he wouldn’t have taken the case then) and everything I hear over the transom is that Stevens is not a bad barrister.

Frankly if they’re going down, I’d hope the FLDS sets up some sort of legal confrontation that clarifies certain points of law, but on the other hand, I can understand of people like Raymond Jessop elect to take probation over idealism. ”

    ============

Probation over Idealism? Who in their right mind thinks he is getting probation!?? Did he turn states evidence or something?

    Do tell!

    • Hugh McManyBrides has a distorted perception of reality.
Raymond will be going to prison.

  25. “…if a new panel was seated for sentencing…”

Cue up “I’m not versed in Texas statues”…

    • Twist,
Texas law isn’t the only thing that Hugh McManyBrides isn’t versed with … but his tremendous ego and lack of common sense don’t stop him from commenting about things he knows NOTHING about…

  26. Yeah, thats from the guy in vermont who thinks he can make polygamy legal. Not that he wants to participate, mind you, just for the principle of the matter!

    • Because Huge Ego is SUCH a man of principals!

      (not)

    • Huge Ego McManyBrides would like to be a polygamist…. but he can’t find anyone stupid enough to be his second wife.

    • Hey…didn’t Huge Ego say on his blog that in September or October that 3 people were going to register for a marriage license in Vermont? It’s November… what happened ?

      • Moody Pharsical got distracted by “NannyGate” wherein he was going to prove that a entire group of Lesbians had taken control of the Colorado Springs Police and no one had noticed and asked the Internal Affairs department to investigate it. He was further delayed waiting for Judge Walther’s to recuse herself from hearing Raymod Jessop’s case but that never materialized. then the Jessop jury delayed Pharsical’s attention while he awaited a jury that decided to nullify instead of bringing a verdict, instead the jury brought a verdict and didn’t nullify, curses! So through all of the theory, nullify and recuse it has been a big delay in single handedly starting the bigamy revolt in Vermont, too.

        • Modern Parsnip should go to Vegas and bet against himself, he’d get rich quick!

  27. I dont follow the Huge McNut much – he kind of reminds me of a harmless Ted Kasinski.

    All mouth and no *pop*.

But funny to watch, I did happen to see him wet his pants today because CO dropped the case against Rozita, this just after getting told by the CSPD that he should slow down on smoking crack.

Huge McNut doesnt have much going for him. But, who thought he ever did! He is as fun as a train wreck on youtube.

  28. I’m still waiting for those three individuals who wanted to register their marriage to come forward in Vermont. Didn’t the Pharisee say that would happen in September or October? It’s November Pharisee, where is the happy trio ????

  29. I think its interesting to watch the Jeffs court date “II” be extended. From a trial in the late Fall of 2008, to 2009 now, can you imagine the discussions in Mohave County by Matt Smith and his staff. The defense trying to seal and disqualify evidence seized, but not even requested by the prosecution. The diary and recorded history of Jeffs writings going public. Grand Jury’s and trials in Texas where dialog and written text is made public.

Will Raymonds defense help or hurt Warren in his next trial? A trial in Arizona, Texas, federal charges for Unlawful Flight and what else will be learned between now and then. Will Warren run out of money? Will Huge McNut morgage his house to raise money for Warren’s Defense? Will Madd Bill morgage his trailer? Will Warren die in Prison or just wear out his knees and right hand? So many interesting questions. Its to late for Warren to use the insanity plee/defense!

After reading ESCAPE, how many here wanted to see Merril Jessop’s day in court?

    • *raises hand* I was thrilled to see Merril Jessop held accountable for child support for Carolyn’s children. And I’m looking forward to his trial this time next year. May he spend his final years in prison.

  30. It’s 10 yrs/80,000.00 fine for Raymond.

  31. A good verdict, even though the punishment was less than I had hoped for. 10 years and 8 grand should send the message that Texas does not tolerate the flds marriage practices. Thanks to the prosecutors, the judge and the jury.

  32. Warren’s flee to Texas was his “kiss of death”, if a real prophet and seer, he should of seen this one coming. Texas is and has had a history of no nonsense when it comes to crimes in the Lonestar State. Legislation like SB146 in Utah and further scrutny of the FLDS faith and doctrine, led to Warren’s decision to rewrite his father and Leroy Johnsons vision that ZION was Short Creek or Colorado City. Eldorado the new Zion??

The message needed and delivered by Texas authorities is that Warren was a false prophet, one who led followers to break the law. The reverse would be touted as deliverance and an act of God, defending his chosen people. It will still take a decade for most of the FLDS to realize arrest and prison is not a test or Gods plan to absolute obedience, but rather a result of a flawed leader. Those jailed only have faith to get them through their ordeal, but like the wives of Tom Green life moves faster forward to those who are left outside and behind.

The Rhodney Parker defense to Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff put it best, Parker rather than denying the illegal acts, defended it as a matter of religious tollerance, Freedom of Religion and cited the modern Mormon church and the 1890 Manifesto as the religious sell out. Denying the act or denying the faith is a delima, with selling out reserved for only the prophet or man at the top. To save his own skin Warren’s lawyers will continue to spin the truth, while those that followed will struggle with their undeniable faith.

I think Warren will kill himself one of these days by fasting or another attempt at hanging himself, but if so, a martyr he will be, after the blame gets redirected. The trappings of the cult mentality will state it was all a conspiracy, followed by a coverup, followed by the appointment of a successor to leed the promised people forward. An old prophesy will be abandoned and new ones created. Such is the pattern of those who lost their free agency long ago.
